Much has taken place since then but with Bush feeling that way...why continue to spill our troops blood ??? The best of this nation have given their all in an unjust war and continue to do so...why continue to ask for more of them when you have given them so very little in return???

Our men and women in the Armed Forces are the best we ever had...young...bright...eager troops.jpgto help change the world for the better and for their children...I have met many of these dedicated troops and I have seen their hearts before...in a different war and at another time...

The cost of this war comes in many ways a060404_sold.jpgs do they all...the face of war is a face better not seen...War must be a measure of last resort not of first strike if a civilized world is to exist...When we send our Forces out to fight and die it should not be because of bad intell or one man's desire...it should not be for money and power and the welfare of the rich and famous and coffin.jpgthe greed of others...

The life of one young man or woman is not worth the killing of tens of thousands of innocent lives for a lie yet it continues to this day...at this very second a bomb has taken the lives of children...old men women...at this moment another American troop is killed...

When you’ve been injured by a combatant, the message you want to send back to your enemy is that I’m still stronger than you. I am not beat. We send that message worldwide whenever we get our picture on the cover of the newspaper or a magazine or the television and it gets around the world. People look at that and say, ‘Look at these great American warriors. Even when we blow them up and beat them down, they’ll stand up and run again and fight again.’ And, you know, we’re Americans and that’s what we’re all about."

Maj. David Rozelle

To troops injured and recovering "It's not getting knocked down that's important, it is the getting back up again and going on. It is the reaching inside and finding that steel in all of us."

"As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself -- not here at the hospital, but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won. The cedar gave me a little scratch. As a matter of fbush_smart.jpgact, the Colonel asked if I needed first aid when she first saw me. I was able to avoid any major surgical operations here, but thanks for your compassion, Colonel."

George W. Bush, after visiting with wounded veterans from the Amputee Care Center of Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 1, 2006

I don't know...to me it takes a pretty cold and uncaring heart to talk about a little scratch after seeing first hand the damage that came to be because of lies and deciet...maybe that's just me...

Shame I Say...Shame

Perks and stardom do not come to every amputee. Sgt. David Thomas, a gunner with the Tennessee National Guard, spent his firsamputee1.jpgt three months at Walter Reed with no decent clothes; medics in Samarra had cut off his uniform. Heavily drugged, missing one leg and suffering from traumatic brain injury, David, 42, was finally told by a physical therapist to go to the Red Cross office, where he was given a T-shirt and sweat pants. He was awarded a Purple Heart but had no underwear.

David tangled with Walter Reed's image machine when he wanted to attend a walter-reed-inside.jpgceremony for a fellow amputee, a Mexican national who was being granted U.S. citizenship by President Bush. A case worker quizzed him about what he would wear. It was summer, so David said shorts. The case manager said the media would be there and shorts were not advisable because the amputees would be seated in the front row..

" 'Are you telling me that I can't go to the ceremony 'cause I'm an amputee?' " David recalled asking. "She said, 'No, I'm saying you need to wear pants.' "

David told the case worker, "I'm not ashamed of what I did, and y'all shouldn't be neither." When the guest list came out for the ceremony, his name was not on it.

Here is but a handful of the many troops that gave their all for this Country...right or wrong they were called on and they served with pride honor and distinction...Their sacrifice must not be for nothing...out of their ashes a peace must come to this world...lessons need to be learned from this total diaster and lack of respect for the Consitution that they Swore an oath to up hold...By the grace of God...

When war, as in these days in Iraq, threatens the fate of humanity, it is ever more urgent to proclaim, with a strong and decisive voice, that only peace is the road to follow to construct a more just and united society. Violence and arms can never resolve the problems of man."

A SOLDIERS WISH

"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

Do not stand at my grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond's glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there. I did not die.
